And so started a long love for singing and song writing. Within a few years Iain was developing his own unique style playing a 12 string guitar. By 1987 Iain had gathered a large repertoire of traditional and self penned songs, he could be found gigging regularly around Mull and released his first hugely successful tape, "To a working Collie" A second CD followed in 1989 which was also successful featuring more original material this time focusing on life and the surroundings of Mull. Iain left Mull in 1996 and spent 7 restless years on the road, much of the time working in an urban, sometimes alien environment. This was a world apart from the music and landscape that had been a large part of his life. Due to changing circumstances and an almost magnetic draw Iain returned to Mull in 2005. This move has inspired the new CD entitled "The Long Road Home". |
